It is a time when Catholics can deepen their baptismal life through prayer, fasting and works of charity.Lent is also the time for candidates and catechumens to make final preparations to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. Today our catechumen, Alexander James and our candidates Chuck Bailey, Pauline Markini, Lisa Costa, and Ryan England will go to St. Mary’s Cathedral to be welcomed by the Bishop into this spiritual preparation of Lent. Lent is directed to the Sacred Triduum that is one celebration which lasts three days. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil make up the most solemn and sacred celebration of the year. Easter flower envelopes are available at the entrances of the church. Parishioners are invited to write the names of their loved ones. They will be published on Easter Sunday in the bulletin. We ask that you place them in the collection by Palm Sunday. We invite parishioners to bring their Lenten sacrificial giving into their weekly shopping.
