CELEBRATION OF THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION WILL BE HELD AT ST. JAMES

ON SATURDAY, MARCH 9

AT OUR 4 P.M. PARISH MASS.

LENT is the time for candidates and catechumens to make final preparations to receive the Sacraments of Initiation at the Easter Vigil. Next Saturday at our 4 p.m. Mass our catechumen, Alexander James and our candidates Chuck Bailey, Pauline Marckini, Lisa Costa, and Ryan England will receive the first scrutiny: A prayer is prayed over them and hands are imposed upon them for their purification and conversion. This is another step in their preparation for the Triduum.

Lent is directed to the Sacred Triduum that is one celebration which lasts three days. Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the Easter Vigil make up the most solemn and sacred celebration of the year.

Easter flower envelopes are available at the entrances of the church. Parishioners are invited to write the names of their loved ones. They will be published on Easter Sunday in the bulletin. We ask that you place them in the collection by Palm Sunday.

We invite parishioners to bring their Lenten sacrificial giving into their weekly shopping. The St. Vincent de Paul Society invites parishioners to donate certain food items each week during Lent. This will allow the needy families of our parish to get adequate bags of food each week that we need for our food pantry.

THANK YOU

Dear Fr. Ed and Parish Community,

It was such an honor to be with the parish family for the joyful celebration

of Fr. Rosemond’s first Mass. That day brought to mind so many joyful memories of my own first Mass. It was truly a celebration of "Church" at its best. You always make me feel so good and welcome everytime I come home. St. James truly is my spiritual home.

An added word of thanks to the St. Vincent de Paul Society for their generous gift. I was truly surprised – not an easy thing to do to me.

I am so grateful to all of you and remember you and your generosity regularly at prayer.

Please continue to pray for me. God bless!
