JAMES, ST. ANNE, ST. HEDWIG AND NUESTRA SENORA DE GUADALUPE CONTINUE THE PROCESS OF JOIINING TOGETHER. Parishioners of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe and St. Hedwig met on Sunday, February 29 with Fr. Ramon, Fr. Buote, Fr. Richard Wilson, Sr. Margarita and Fr. Ed to speak about our joining together. Fr. Ramon and Fr. Buote presented the financial situation and the record of Mass attendance to see that we need to merge into one parish community. The people were assured that there would be a Sunday Mass in Spanish every week. The rest of the meeting gave people the opportunity to grieve the loss of their building and parish. The meeting was positive and friendly. On Thursday, March 4 Fr. Ramon and Sr. Margarita of Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe and St. Hedwig; Fr. Richard Wilson, Fr. Ed and Deacon Larry of St. James; and Fr. Martin Buote of St. Anne met to discuss the steps that are needed to be taken toward the merger with St. Anne in June and Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe and St. Hedwig in the Fall. It was decided that a committee made up of the above clergy and members of each parish will be formed to speak about meaningful ways to prepare for the merger. It was understood that it is essential that the parishioners of these four parishes be part of this process. |
