First Profession of Vows of a Franciscan will be received by Bishop Sean O’Malley at St. James on Saturday, May 12 at 11 a.m. Parishioners are invited to attend.
COMING PARISH EVENTS *Rosary and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the church on Wednesdays: May 16, 23, and 30 @ 7p.m. *Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday, May 6 from noon until 5 p.m. in the chapel. Holy Hour at 4 p.m. for vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life. . The Parish Vocations Committee is sponsoring a 31 day prayer club for the month of May. A calendar is set up in the gathering area next weekend. Parishioners are invited to pick one day in the month of May to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Please write your name in the square of the date that you would like to select. It is hoped that every date will be taken by parishioners so that the entire month will be a time of prayer for this intention. Bishop Sean O’Malley wrote a Pastoral Letter during the Holy Year 2000 on fostering vocations to the religious life and priesthood. It was entitled, "Vocations: Everyone’s Business". The exhibit of the calendar and various pictures of people in religious life will have the same title. The Committee also sponsors a Holy Hour during Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on the first Sunday of the month. PARISH FINANCIAL COUNCIL REPORTS the collections for the month of April. The Council advises that $3,000 needs to be collected in the first collection each week so that all our bills can be paid.
