As the Diocese celebrates its one hundredth anniversary and as we reflect back on the history of Saint James Parish, we see the many ways that the Church has been of assistance to those in need.Through the Catholic Charities Appeal the Catholic Church has been able to provide chaplains in the hospitals throughout the diocese, to assist parents and children through adoption programs, to aid women and children in abusive situations, and to help the poor with the basic necessities of life. The Catholic Charities Appeal makes possible the TV Mass seen Sundays at 8 a.m. on Channel 6, which assists the homebound in being united to the rest of the diocese in prayer. If possible, we ask that you increase your contributions to the Appeal this year. Because it is the one hundredth anniversary of the Diocese, parishioners who have not given one hundred dollars to the Appeal in the past are asked to do so this year. You are asked to mail your donation with the Appeal card to the rectory; put it through the mail slot; or put it in the collection.
