The Parish Vocations Committee is sponsoring a 31 day prayer club for the month of May. A calendar is set up in the gathering area next weekend. Parishioners are invited to pick one day in the month of May to pray for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Please write your name in the square of the date that you would like to select. It is hoped that every date will be taken by parishioners so that the entire month will be a time of prayer for this intention.

Bishop Sean O’Malley wrote a Pastoral Letter during the Holy Year 2000 on fostering vocations to the religious life and priesthood.

It was entitled, "Vocations: Everyone’s Business". The exhibit of the calendar and various pictures of people in religious life will have the same title.

A vote for new members was taken by the Parish Pastoral Council. The members of the Parish Pastoral Council are:

LEE PACHECO

SUE BEDARD

ANN HART

DAVID SPOOR

MARY KENNEDY

AL LIMA

ALICE LESTER

The Parish Pastoral Council will present the final version of the Parish Self –Study at this special Parish Meeting. Copies of the Self-Study will be available to those who attend this parish meeting. Each topic will be presented with time for responses and questions.

At the end of the meeting any other topics, questions, concerns or responses will be welcomed.

This final version of the Parish Self-Study is our second report. The first report was completed in 1995 when the five years before were evaluated and studied. Certain goals were given. In this present report those goals are studied to see if they were implemented. New goals are being projected for the future.

This document will be the road map that we follow for the future years. It is important that the parishioners be aware of this general plan and to have an opportunity to respond.

This is important information for the members of the Council for future decisions and plans.

The meeting will not be long, but it is an important meeting for those parishioners who are interested in their parish and its future.

Input from parishioners about what they want for their parish has always been an important part of the life of the parish. We hope that at such an important juncture as this one, the response of parishioners to this special meeting will be large and enthusiastic.
