ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT ON SUNDAY, JUNE 3 FROM NOON UNTIL 5 P.M. IN THE CHAPEL FEAST OF PENTECOST JUNE 3, 2000 is the end of the Easter Season. The Easter Candle that had a special place of honor near the lecturn, will be moved to its regular place near the baptismal font. The singing of the Gloria and blessing with Holy Water at the Masses will end. The color of the Feast is red. It reminds us that on Pentecost the Holy Spirit came to the Apostles in tongues of fire. We invite parishioners to wear something red on this day.
MONDAY, JUNE 4 @ 7 P.M. IN THE CHURCH HALL It is hoped that many parishioners will come to this meeting that is being sponsored by the Parish Pastoral Council. The nominations of new members to the Council were received from parishioners who placed them in boxes at the entrances of the church two weeks before the Parish Pastoral Council meeting. A vote for new members was taken by the Parish Pastoral Council. The members of the Parish Pastoral Council are: DEACON LARRY ST. ONGE CAROL SYLVIA SUE FOSTER KATHY MURPHY LEE PACHECO SUE BEDARD ANN HART DAVID SPOOR MARY KENNEDY AL LIMA ALICE LESTER The Parish Pastoral Council will present the final version of the Parish Self –Study at this special Parish Meeting. Copies of the Self-Study will be available to those who attend this parish meeting. Each topic will be presented with time for responses and questions. At the end of the meeting any other topics, questions, concerns or responses will be welcomed. This final version of the Parish Self-Study is our second report. The first report was completed in 1995 when the five years before were evaluated and studied. Certain goals were given. In this present report those goals are studied to see if they were implemented. New goals are being projected for the future. This document will be the road map that we follow for the future years. It is important that the parishioners be aware of this general plan and to have an opportunity to respond. This is important information for the members of the Council for future decisions and plans. The meeting will not be long, but it is an important meeting for those parishioners who are interested in their parish and its future. Fr. Ed will conduct the entire meeting. Input from parishioners about what they want for their parish has always been an important part of the life of the parish. We hope that at such an important juncture as this one, the response of parishioners to this special meeting will be large and enthusiastic. |
