James Parish St. anne parish Nuestra seÑora de Guadalupe parish St. hedwig parish Our merger will be conducted in two stages. The first stage will be the merger of St. Anne’s Parish with ours, which will occur on Saturday, June 26 at the 4 p.m. Mass. We will welcome the people of St. Anne’s formally at that Mass and Father Richard and Deacon Larry will be joined by Father Buote and Deacon Morency on the altar. They will begin their retirements by entrusting their flock to us. May we all be good shepherds, each in our own way. The Hospitality Committee will be organizing a reception after Mass. The second stage will be the merging of St. Hedwig & Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe parishes with ours. That will occur on Saturday, July 24 at the 4 p.m. Mass. This year the Feast of St. James falls on a Sunday. This divine coincidence allows us to welcome everyone on the vigil of our feast day. Thus the readings of the Mass will be the special ones of St. James’ feast. The Hospitality Committee will also organize the reception after this Mass. Please mark both dates in your calendar and make an effort to be present. In the summer we have many other things on our minds, but these are two things which are worth "penciling in" so as to welcome our brothers & sisters in Christ. As the Diocese celebrates its one hundredth anniversary and as we reflect back on the history of Saint James Parish, we see the many ways that the Church has been of assistance to those in need. According to our parish history, our founding pastor, Fr. James Clark, always reminded his parishioners of our need to exercise Christian charity to our neighbor, whether near or far. That tradition was beautifully continued by Father Ed Correia during these last 10 years. You are asked to mail your donation with the Appeal card to the rectory; put it through the mail slot; or put it in the collection. Thank you for your generosity to God’s people –Father Rich Remember our deceased veterans in prayer on memorial day! |
