At Mass keep pocketbooks in front of you during Mass and bring them to Communion. Don’t leave anything in the entrance of the church near the coat rack.

It is unfortunate that this kind of an announcement has to be made, but it is better to be safe……….

PENTECOST SUNDAY

from the Pastor’s Desk

Today is the Feast of the Church. The Holy Spirit has directed the Church and has been with the Church during all this time.

In our local Church, the Diocese of Fall River, we will be entering into our centennial year with the first Sunday of Advent (November 2003). Our new Bishop Elect, George Coleman, will lead the Diocese as we enter the centennial year in 2004.

The second hundred years of our Diocese will be different than the first.

Things have changed. To respond to these changes Bishop Coleman will have to be making very serious decisions for the good of the entire local Church.

It is fitting that on this special feast of the Church that we as a parish pray for our new Bishop and ask the Holy Spirit to give us the openness, courage, and love for the Church to do what is needed for the good of all.

Bishop Elect Coleman will be ordained a bishop and installed as the Bishop of Fall River on July 22 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Fall River. It will be a day of great celebration but also a day of our supporting the new Bishop in his very difficult work ahead.
