PARISH FINANCIAL COUNCIL

gives a report to the parish each month of the collections for that month. Each month the amount of the offertory collections and the special collections are reported. In addition to this monthly reporting of the revenues, the Financial Council also prepares a yearly financial report of the total revenues and expenses for that fiscal year.

The members of the Financial Council met to prepare a report for the fiscal year of July 1, 2000 to June 31, 2001.

This report will be given to the parishioners by members of the Financial Council at the Masses on a weekend. The Financial Council member who gives the report will be available to the parishioners to answer any questions. A written financial report will be available to all parishioners at the Masses. Copies of the report are placed in the pews for people to follow the report of the Financial Council.

The members of the Financial Council are:

Fr. Ed, Deacon Larry St. Onge, David Belong, Annette Dwyer, Ann Callanan, Janice Lord, Gil and Linda Moniz, June and George Silva.

ST. JAMES HEALTH CARE MINISTRY

A receptacle for used eye glasses has been placed in the gathering area of the church near the parish library. It is the courtesy of the Lion’s Club. Hundreds of thousands of people in the third world countries have been serviced with glasses through the efforts of the Lions.

We are also collecting hearing aides, which can be overhauled and reassembled for distribution to poor people in our country. Join the Health Care Committee in supporting this worthwhile cause.

ST. JAMES EDUCATION COMMITEE

ST. JAMES LENDING LIBRARY

has acquired several new books and videos for the children of our parish. The animated videos are titled: "The Day the Sun Danced";

"Juan Diego, Messenger of Guadalupe"; "Bernadette , Princess of Lourdes"; and "My Secret Friend- A Guardian Angel Story".

Please be sure to write your name and phone number in the take out book and return videos the next week. (Books can be signed out for two weeks.) No renewals on videos please.

The Lending Library can be a valuable resource for our parish when used responsibly.

The education Committee has noted the loss of many books and nearly all of the library’s video’s over the past three years due to people forgetting to return them or not signing them out. Please help us to serve our parish better by treating our library like any other library. If anyone would like to make a cash donation to purchase more videos or new catholic books, please contact Kathleen Massoud: 993-7325
