Here are the receipts (income):Food $2,831.80 (Comida) Cake $ 749.99 (Pasteles) Raffle $6,002.00 (Rifa) Chinese Auction $ 300.00 (la mesa con pequeñas rifas) Adult Twistees $ 805.00 (la mesa para adultos) Child Twistees $1,078.50 (la mesa para niños) Dime Toss $ 70.80 (tirando "dimes") Number Wheel $ 303.00 (la rueda de numeros) Color Tins $ 205.50 (la mesa colorada con la pelota) Baseball $ 98.25 Football $ 52.75 Golf $ 92.55 Yard Sale $ 546.36 Special Raffle $ 244.00 (la rifa especial) Here are the expenses: (gastos) Food $1,371.67 (comida) Raffle $1,535.00 (rifa) Chinese Auction $ 100.00 (la mesa con pequeñas rifas) Adult Twistees $ 223.34 (la mesa para adultos) Child Twistees $ 176.00 (la mesa para niños) Baseball $ 60.00 Football $ 60.00 Golf $ 60.00 Miscellaneous $2,682.86 (2 of the DJ’s; police; security; porta-potties; payments to the city & state; electrical work, etc) (musica, policia, seguridad, cheques al estado y a la ciudad, electicidad, etc). We are very appreciative of everyone who worked the festival, bought & sold raffle tickets and everyone who came to it. It was a fun time, but it also required a lot of effort. At the meeting on Monday night we discussed what should we do in the future. The financial report showed that each year the festival makes less money than the year before. In comparison to last year, the only parts of the festival that we had both years which showed an increase in income were the cake table, the raffle (by $1,015.00), and the children’s twistees. We also made more money by having 2 new elements, the yard sale and the special raffle of the Aquarium and Red Sox tickets. The people who have been working the festival have been pretty much the same since the beginning, with the exception of some folks who had been fundraising at the other parishes and kept working when they moved to County St. These parishioners have been giving their all and are in need of more (and younger) people to help run the festival. We are in need of new people to chair the festival, to chair the food booth and to organize the set-up. As such, we would like to discuss with the parishioners what we should be doing in terms of fundraising so as to pay for the expenses of the parish and how to do it in as enjoyable manner as possible. We will have a General Fundraising Meeting on Wednesday, October 27 at 7 p.m. in the Hall. At that time we will discuss whether we should have the festival next year, how we should revamp it to make it more effective (both in terms of fundraising and in terms of making it a fun event which attracts people), and what other activities we could be doing to support the parish. This meeting is open to everyone. Please note it in your calendars. Thank you. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO DO MAILING FOR PENNY SALE : please come to the rectory this Wednesday night at 7 p.m. to help stuff envelopes to send out raffle tickets for the Penny Sale.
