renew

The second step on the road of Renew is the formation of the small faith sharing groups. It is probably best to begin by explaining what the faith sharing groups are not. They are not self - help groups. They are not theology classes. They are not catechism classes. They are not a prayer group. They are not a Bible class.

What are they? They are a gathering of people who want to grow in their faith. They are a group of people who will use a booklet with certain themes on the Holy Trinity. In the booklet there will be passages from the Holy Bible, and a small reflection on the Holy Trinity that is taken from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. There will be questions to help people think about how their faith everyday is touched by the Holy Trinity. "What does the Holy Trinity mean in my life?".

The most important part of the one and a half hours of meeting each week is the sharing about the faith. People do not have to speak if they feel uncomfortable. They can still participate by listening. There will be people who will share and that might encourage others. No, it doesn’t have to be "earth shattering" sharing. Just the little things that happen can really help people understand the faith in a special way. People sharing their faith helps others to see how God works in their lives.

When a person begins to discover God present in their lives, they are motivated to learn more about their faith. An experience of God leads many times to a deeper knowledge of God.

Try it. There are forms at the side entrance and in the gathering area. Fill one out and place it in the container.

You may be aware of circumstances that will not allow you to be at every meeting.

Sign up and benefit from the times that you can go. It is only one time a week for six weeks. The groups will be formed according to the schedule of the people. Groups can be formed during the day or at night on any day of the week.

It could be what we might need to renew our faith!
