Our parish has been privileged to know so many newly ordained priests who have spent some time with us or have walked the journey of preparation with us. Fr. Thomas Washburn, O.F.M., Fr. Oscar, and now Deacon Rosemond Joseph have helped us to appreciate the vocation to the priesthood and religious life. Our Vocations Committee once again invites parishioners to pray for vocations during the month of October. Calendars are on the boards at the side entrance and in the gathering area of the church. Parishioners are invited to select one day of the month to pray for vocations in any way. Your prayer on that designated day might include sacrifices, fasting, a rosary, times of silence or any other way of communicating to God about the need for more vocations. Please write your name on the day that you would like to pray. The Committee hopes that every day of the month will be filled with names. WELCOME TO FR ANNAN Fr. Annan is from Columbia as was Fr. Oscar. Fr. Annan will be with us from October 19 until Christmas. Fr. Annan speaks English. He will be working with Fr. Frank in the hospital. He will also be working in the Spanish communities of New Bedford, Hyannis, and Nantucket. |
