Articles for the White Elephant Table and new gifts may be left at the rectory.

Please mark them W.E. or NEW. No shoes or books. Monetary donations are always accepted as this helps to purchase new items for the gifts table.

Our gift baskets raffle is very popular.

New items such as kitchen, baby bath, garden, Christmas etc. may be left in the gathering area or at the rectory. Please mark as basket table. Call Ann Przystarz 508-999-2285.

We ask parishioners to help carry the items from the rectory to the church hall on Saturday, November 2 at 10 a.m. We will meet at the rectory.

TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION TO THE PERMANENT DIACONATE OF DEACON LAWRENCE ST. ONGE

will be held on Saturday, November 2, at the 4 p.m. Mass. His fellow deacons who were ordained on that day will be celebrating their anniversary as well with Deacon Larry.

The Deacons and their wives will be attending that Mass. Parishioners are invited to come to this special Mass and celebrate with Deacon Larry and Jackie St. Onge this special day

MARIAN MEDAL RECEPIENT

will be receiving the Marian Medal on Sunday, November 24 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in the afternoon. A reception will be held in the rectory for the recepient, family, friends, other parish Marian Medalists of the past, and parishioners at 5 p.m.

NOVEMBER ANNUAL COLLECTION

It has been the custom to have this collection each year to help in the payment of bills.

As the parishioners know, there will be no more bingo at St. James. The loss of this revenue will make a difference.

For the last nine years the Parish Financial Council reports the weekly collection at the end of the month. During these years the Council has also suggested that the amount of $3,000 is needed in the first collection each week so that the parish can meet all of its financial obligations.

As we have seen, we don’t collect this amount in the first collection very often. Christmas and Easter are the times that we collect more than $3,000. This annual

collection can help make up for the amount that is not collected.

We ask that all parishioners be as generous as possible. Thank you for what you will do in this special collection.

renew

Schedule of Faith Sharing groups:

Monday, 10 a.m. in the rectory

Monday, 2:30 p.m. in the rectory

Tuesday, 7 p.m. in the rectory

Wednesday, 7 p.m. in the rectory

Thursday, 7 p.m. in the rectory

. The length of the meetings is one hour and a half.

In the gathering area you will find a basket decorated with fall decorations. We invite parishioners during these six weeks to write one area of their spiritual lives that they would like to renew (prayer, quality time with others, better communication, reconciliation, etc.). You don’t write your name just the area of renewing. We will pray for these intentions during the second phase of renew.

You will notice this weekend that the RENEW Banner is in its place of honor. It will remain there during these six weeks of RENEW. The rose is a symbol of our lives. The new buds on the rose symbolize our growth in the life of God during these six weeks. The hand symbolizes the hand of God from which this flower grows.

The lettering on the bottom of the banner dates the centennial of our Diocese.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE

invites parishioners to put their old religious Christmas cards in the receptacles near the St. Vincent de Paul food containers at the entrances of the church. These cards will be used by the committee to prepare a special surprise for our parishioners.
