MOVIE NIGHT Tonight (Saturday): The Education Committee is sponsoring a series of movie nights, to be able to think about our faith while being entertained. The second movie night will be this Saturday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. The movie will be Juan Diego: Messenger of Guadalupe. It is a cartoon & appropriate for children and adults. The movie will be shown in the hall. All are welcome!!!

FIRST SUNDAY ADORATION TODAY: After the 11:30 Mass until 5 p.m. the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed in the chapel (Please enter through the Fair St. parking lot door). With all the hecticness of December, what better way is there to prepare for the celebration of Christ’s birth than spending some time with Him in prayer? Please come by at any time. The Adoration will end with a Holy Hour for Vocations, beginning at 4 p.m. and ending with Benediction.

"NEW FAMILY COMMITTEE" is a group open to all parishioners which will work on organizing social events for the whole parish. On Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. it will meet to discuss fundraising meals and other events to build our community. If you like to cook, decorate, plan a party or just lend a helping hand or brainstorm ideas, please know that you are most welcome to come to these meetings.

December 3-11 – Novena of Our Lady of Guadalupe: We pray through the intercession of Our Lady for a greater respect for life and for fidelity to Her Son. The novena will be prayed bilingually, following the schedule below:

December 8 – Holyday of the Immaculate Conception (patroness of the USA). As Catholics we are responsible for attending Mass on 6 holydays annually. The Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary, in the womb of her mother St. Anne, is the patronal feast of our country. We will have Masses on Tuesday, 12/7 at 7 p.m., and on Wednesday, 12/8 at 9 a.m., 3:30 p.m. (with the CCD students, but open to all), 7 p.m. (bilingual). After the 7 p.m. Mass until Midnight there will be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, as part of the National Night of Prayer for Life. Please plan to come by at some point and spend some time with Our Lord. We will end with Night Prayer and Benediction, beginning at 11:45.

December 11 – 4 p.m. – Diocesan Celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe: This begins with the traditional singing of the "Mañanitas" (Little morning songs) to the Blessed Mother, with children and adults dressed in costumes typical to their native or ancestral land presenting flowers to the Virgin. We would like some children from the CCD or school to use the Pilgrims and Indians costumes, representing our first residents of Massachusetts, but if you would like to come in other historical American or ethnic costumes, please know that you are most welcome. That will be followed by the opening procession, with the banners which were used at the Diocesan Centennial celebration at LaSalette, the flags, the lectors, deacons, priests and Bishop Coleman. The Mass will be celebrated in English and Spanish. After Mass there will be supper served downstairs. Our community is responsible for providing the meat for the meal (other parishes will bring rice, salad, sodas, coffee and dessert). We are in need of chicken or pork shoulder (cooked already). If you are interested in helping with the food, please contact Felicitas Gomez (999-9445). Please drop off the food in the hall on Saturday at 3 p.m. (preferably on a disposable aluminum platter). All are welcome to the dinner, which is free. Folkloric presentations will be done during the meal. If you would like to share your dancing, singing or musical talents with everyone, please speak to Father or Sister so as to get on the program schedule. We will have sign-up sheets in church for the different areas in which we are in need of help. Please save this date.

AFTERNOON FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS WITH THE FOCOLARE HERE has been postponed until Sunday, December 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. (when it will be an evening, not an afternoon). The Focolare Movement, founded in Trent, Italy after WWII, is present today in 182 nations & reaches over 5 million people. Their goal is one of striving towards the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer to the Father, "May they all be one" (John 17:21). A spirituality of unity came to life and gave rise to a movement of spiritual and social renewal. Please feel welcome to come to spend an evening of friendship with this Catholic movement. ENGLISH CLASS has begun. Nancy and John are offering it Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the rectory. It is open to anyone who would like to improve their English. Whether we’re receiving the Host or drinking from the Chalice, we are receiving All of the Body and Blood of Christ. Please be considerate of your brothers and sisters in the Lord. Please also refrain from shaking hands at the sign of peace if you have sneezed since the last time you washed your hands. A wave or a hug can transmit your love without transmitting germs.

UNA TARDE CON EL MOVIMIENTO FOCOLARE AQUI el domingo, 12 de diciembre de 6 a 8 p.m. El movimiento Focolare fue fundado en Trento, Italia despues de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Está presente en 182 naciones y tiene mas de 5 millones de miembros. Focolare significa "lugar con fuego." Chiara Lubich, junto con un pequeño grupo de amigas, se dio cuenta que Dios es el unico ideal por el cual vale la pena vivir y como resultado centraron su vida en el Evangelio. Muchos otros las seguieron. Se volvió su objetivo el esfuerzo de cumplir la oración de Jesus al Padre: "Que todos sean uno" (Juan 17, 21). Nació la espiritualidad de la unidad y creó un movimiento espiritual y de renovación social. Todos estan bienvenidos a pasar una noche de amistad con este movimiento catolico. CLASE DE ESPAÑOL se ofrece los Martes a las 7 p.m. en la rectoria.

CLASE DE INGLES: Todos estan invitados a estas clases en donde podrán ir aprendiendo el ingles que les ayudará a una mejor comunicación con la comunidad Americana, comunicando en el trabajo y a los que vayan a presentar el exámen de Ciudadania. Les ayudará sucar la Ciudadania de los EE.UU. La maestra, Nancy Medeiros, nos espera cada miercoles a las 7 p.m. en la rectoria. Ella generosamente da este tiempo para que ustedes puedan aprender el ingles. Son unas clases muy buenas, Nancy es una excelente maestra. "COMITE NUEVA FAMILIA" es un grupo bilingue, abierto a todos los feligreses que quieren organizar oportunidades sociales para toda la comunidad. El martes, 7 de diciembre a las 8 p.m. se reunirá para planear comidas y otras actividades para ganar dinero para la parroquia y para tener la oportunidad de intercambiar entre las culturas.

R.IC.A. es el proceso de clases para preparar adultos que no han recibido el bautismo o la 1ª Comunión o la Confirmación o que eran de otra religion y ahora quieren hacerse catolicos. EQUIPO DE EVANGELIZACION: Van a las casas par hacer Fiestas Espirituales y luego tienen clases de evangelización para ayudar a familias para que crezcan en la fe. PUBLICIDAD PARA EL LIBRO de la Memoria Historica del Apostolado Hispano – necesitamos vender publicidad para este libro que da la historia de las comunidades hispanas. La mitad de una página cuesta $120. Puede ser una Buena cosa para recordar algun difunto o dar gracias a la Virgen o San Judas o San Antonio. Por favor, habla con Felicitas o el padre si quieres comprar la mitad de una página (esta es la ultima oportunidad).

CLASES DE BAUTISMO: Como siempre, las clases en preparación para el bautismo se dan los 2os y 3er domingos de mes, despues de la Misa de las 11:30.

FIESTA CON EL ARBOL DE NAVIDAD: el sábado, 11 de diciembre a las 7 p.m. en el parque en la esquina de Ruth St. y Brock Ave. (al lado de la Antigua Santa Ana). Habrá cosas para los niños, chocolate y donuts, Santa Claus, y musica. Puede ser una Buena cosa para despues de la fiesta aquí.

SI ESTAS ENFERMO/A o estas refriado, o tienes monga o cualquier otra enfermedad, por favor no recibas la Comunión en el caliz ya que podemos contagiar a los demas. Por favor, solo comulga con la Hostia Consagrada. También, si estás enfermo, no des la mano en la señal de la paz. Se puede dar la paz por un abrazo o un saludo con la mano, sin tener que transmitir alguna enfermedad.

CUANDO VAYAS A RECIBIR LA COMUNION, por favor espera hasta que los ministros de la Comunión se encuentren en el lugar en donde estarán dando la Comunión. Este es un momento muy importante en el que todos podemos ayudar a que haya orden, silencio y devoción.

December 8 – Fiesta de Precepto de la Inmaculada Concepción (patrona de los EE.UU). Como catolicos tenemos la responsabilidad de asistir a la Misa en 6 dias de precepto cada año (ademas de los domingos). La Fiesta de la Inmaculada Concepción de María, en el vientre de su madre, Santa Ana, es la fiesta patronal de nuestro pais. Tendremos Misas aquí el Martes, 12/7 a las 7 p.m., y el Miercoles, 12/8 a las 9 a.m., 3:30 p.m. (con los niños del catecismo), 7 p.m. (bilingue). Despues de la Misa de las 7 p.m. hasta Medianoche tendremos adoración del Santissimo Sacramento, participando así en la noche nacional de oración por la Vida. Por favor, ponlo en tu calendario para que puedas venir para pasar un rato con Nuestro Señor.

11 de diciembre – 4 p.m. – Celebración Diocesana de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe: Comienza con las "Mañanitas" a la Virgen, con niños y adultos en trajes tipicos presentandole flores. Queremos que muchos paises sean representados. Incluso los niños pueden vestirse como pereginos o indios, para representar los primeros residents de Massachusetts. Luego siguue la procession de la Misa, con los estandartes que usamos en el centenario de la diócesis en LaSalette, las banderas, los lectors, diaconos, sacerdotes y el Obispo (Mons. Coleman). La Misa será bilingue. Despues tendremos la Cena. Nuestra comunidad es responsable por la carne este año. Necesitamos pollo o pernil (ya preparado, no crudo). Si puedes ayudar con la comida, por favor llama a Felicitas Gomez (999-9445). Por favor, que traigan la comida a las 3 p.m. ya preparada en bandeja de aluminio. Tendremos presentaciones Folkloricas durante la cena. Si quieres presentar un baile, canción, musica o algun otro talento, habla con el padre o la hermana. Tendremos hojas para "sign-up", para que todos puedan ayudar en algo. Reservalo en tu calendario.
