WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A CATHOLIC? ARE YOU AN ADULT WHO HAS NEVER BEEN BAPTIZED OR RECEIVED FIRST COMMUNION? We will have a meeting this Monday (Dec. 13) at 6 p.m. in the rectory for all adults and adolescents who are in need of these Sacraments.

Sunday, December 12 – 6 a.m. – singing of the Mañanitas (hymns to the Blessed Mother in Spanish and English) here in church, followed by hot chocolate and pastry in the rectory. These are songs which salute the Our Mother on her feast day. Please come and begin the day with Our Lady!

Sunday, December 12 – 2 p.m. – Caroling at the homes of shut-ins. Please join us in the Fair St. parking lot, from which we will carpool to different people’s homes to bring some cheer. You need not be Pavaroti, just someone who wants to spread some of the love of Christ.

Tuesday, December 14 – 7 p.m. – Parish Advent Penance Service – The readings at Mass remind us of our need to repent and make a path for the Lord’s coming. Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation we allow Christ to heal us of our sins and to reconcile us with our neighbor. Please join us Tuesday night for this opportunity to receive the gift of forgiveness. We will open with a prayer service, preached by Father Tom Carzon, OMV, director of the St. Francis Chapel in the Prudential Center Mall in Boston. Serving there he sees all the bustle of December, but also the thirst the shoppers and workers have for Christ.

December 16 to 23 – Novena in preparation for Christmas. Every night (with the exception of Friday, when we will go to LaSalette) we will meet at 7:30 and leave from the Fair St. parking lot in a carpool to pray and sing in English and Spanish. Children can dress as Mary, Joseph and the angel. If you would like to have your house host one night or if you would like your children to dress up, please call the rectory.

Friday, December 17 – Trip to LaSalette: We will leave from in front of the church at 5:45 by bus and carpool (If you would like to reserve a seat on the bus, please call the rectory). Come and see the lights, view Nativity Scenes from all over the world, enjoy Fr. Pat’s concert at 7 p.m., participate in the "Posadas" procession at 8:45, eat dinner, visit the bookstore, etc.

GIVING TREE: This year our tree will be to help provide a gift to each of the children from our CCD and school at our celebration of the 3 Kings on Sunday, January 2 at 1 p.m. Please take a tag from the tree this weekend and return your wrapped gift to the church or the rectory by Christmas. Thank you for your generosity!

BLOOD PRESSURE WILL BE TAKEN NEXT WEEKEND AFTER THE MASSES, NOT THIS WEEKEND. We are in need of more people (nurses, doctors, etc) who would be available to take blood pressures. If you are interested, please contact Maureen Lewis at 508 993-6965.

AFTERNOON FOR FAMILY & FRIENDS WITH THE FOCOLARE HERE has been postponed until Sunday, December 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. (when it will be an evening, not an afternoon). The Focolare Movement, founded in Trent, Italy after WWII, is present today in 182 nations & reaches over 5 million people. Their goal is one of striving towards the fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer to the Father, "May they all be one" (John 17:21). A spirituality of unity came to life and gave rise to a movement of spiritual and social renewal. Please feel welcome to come to spend an evening of friendship with this Catholic movement. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING: Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Ruth St. Common Park (across from St. Anne’s) at 7 p.m. There will be music, Santa, hot chocolate & doughnuts, and goodie bags. Please join your fellow parishioners for some fun (might be a good dessert after the meal here).

COURAGE is a group for people dealing with same-sex attractions while trying to live chastely. Founded by Fr. John Harvey, OSFS, the group is faithful to the Church’s teachings on human sexuality. The next meeting is on Sunday, December 19 at 7 p.m. in the rectory. All are welcome.

ENGLISH CLASS has begun. Nancy and John are offering it Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the rectory. It is open to anyone who would like to improve their English. Whether we’re receiving the Host or drinking from the Chalice, we are receiving All of the Body and Blood of Christ. Please be considerate of your brothers and sisters in the Lord. Please also refrain from shaking hands at the sign of peace if you have sneezed since the last time you washed your hands. A wave or a hug can transmit your love without transmitting germs.

UNA TARDE CON EL MOVIMIENTO FOCOLARE AQUI el domingo, 12 de diciembre de 6 a 8 p.m. El movimiento Focolare fue fundado en Trento, Italia despues de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Está presente en 182 naciones y tiene mas de 5 millones de miembros. Focolare significa "lugar con fuego." Chiara Lubich, junto con un pequeño grupo de amigas, se dio cuenta que Dios es el unico ideal por el cual vale la pena vivir y como resultado centraron su vida en el Evangelio. Muchos otros las seguieron. Se volvió su objetivo el esfuerzo de cumplir la oración de Jesus al Padre: "Que todos sean uno" (Juan 17, 21). Nació la espiritualidad de la unidad y creó un movimiento espiritual y de renovación social. Todos estan bienvenidos a pasar una noche de amistad con este movimiento catolico. CLASE DE ESPAÑOL se ofrece los Martes a las 7 p.m. en la rectoria.

CLASE DE INGLES: Todos estan invitados a estas clases en donde podrán ir aprendiendo el ingles que les ayudará a una mejor comunicación con la comunidad Americana, comunicando en el trabajo y a los que vayan a presentar el exámen de Ciudadania. Les ayudará sucar la Ciudadania de los EE.UU. La maestra, Nancy Medeiros, nos espera cada miercoles a las 7 p.m. en la rectoria. Ella generosamente da este tiempo para que ustedes puedan aprender el ingles. Son unas clases muy buenas, Nancy es una excelente maestra. R.IC.A. es el proceso de clases para preparar adultos que no han recibido el bautismo o la 1ª Comunión o la Confirmación o que eran de otra religion y ahora quieren hacerse catolicos. Tenemos estas clases los domingos a las 10 a.m. en el salón parroquial. Si no pudiste venir hoy, por favor ven el Domingo próximo.

EQUIPO DE EVANGELIZACION: Van a las casas par hacer Fiestas Espirituales y luego tienen clases de evangelización para ayudar a familias para que crezcan en la fe. PUBLICIDAD PARA EL LIBRO de la Memoria Historica del Apostolado Hispano – necesitamos vender publicidad para este libro que da la historia de las comunidades hispanas. La mitad de una página cuesta $120. Puede ser una Buena cosa para recordar algun difunto o dar gracias a la Virgen o San Judas o San Antonio. Por favor, habla con Felicitas o el padre si quieres comprar la mitad de una página (esta es la ultima oportunidad).

CLASES DE BAUTISMO: Como siempre, las clases en preparación para el bautismo se dan los 2os y 3er domingos de mes, despues de la Misa de las 11:30.

FIESTA CON EL ARBOL DE NAVIDAD: el sábado, 11 de diciembre a las 7 p.m. en el parque en la esquina de Ruth St. y Brock Ave. (al lado de la Antigua Santa Ana). Habrá cosas para los niños, chocolate y donuts, Santa Claus, y musica. Puede ser una Buena cosa para despues de la fiesta aquí.

SI ESTAS ENFERMO/A o estas refriado, o tienes monga o cualquier otra enfermedad, por favor no recibas la Comunión en el caliz ya que podemos contagiar a los demas. Por favor, solo comulga con la Hostia Consagrada. También, si estás enfermo, no des la mano en la señal de la paz. Se puede dar la paz por un abrazo o un saludo con la mano, sin tener que transmitir alguna enfermedad.

CUANDO VAYAS A RECIBIR LA COMUNION, por favor espera hasta que los ministros de la Comunión se encuentren en el lugar en donde estarán dando la Comunión. Este es un momento muy importante en el que todos podemos ayudar a que haya orden, silencio y devoción.

Martes, 14 de diciembre – 7 p.m. – Servicio de la Penitencia para Adviento. Todos necesitamos ser mas fieles a Nuestro Señor y el Sacramento de la Confesión nos ayuda a reconocer nuestra debilidad propia y nuestra fuerza en el perdón del Señor. Por favor ven a confesarte y preparar bien para la Navidad. Comenzaremos con una homilia bilingue por Padre Tom Carzon, OMV, director de una capilla catolica en un Mall en Boston. El ve todos los dias los trabajadores y consumidores allá, pero también ve su sed de Cristo.

16 de diciembre – Novenario en preparación para la Navidad (Camino de Belen/Posadas). Saldremos cada noche (Con la excepcion del viernes, cuando iremos a LaSalette) a las 7:30 del parking detras de la Iglesia para rezar en casas particulares. Si quieres que vengamos a su casa o que sus hijos se vistan de Maria, José o el angel, por favor llama a la rectoria.

Viernes, 17 de diciembre – Viaje a LaSalette: Saldremos de aqui a las 5:45 en una guagua y en coches. Si quieres reservar una silla en la guagua, llama a la rectoria. En LaSalette se puede ver muchas luces navideñas, rezar una Hora Santa, asistir conciertos en ingles y español, participar en las Posadas con gente de toda la diócesis, cenar, ir a la librería, etc.

ENSAYO PARA LA POSADA EN LASALETTE: Tendremos aquí el lunes a las 6:30 en el salón parroquial un ensayo para hacer las Posadas cuando vayamos a LaSalette este viernes. Por favor, ven y ayudanos a hacer bonita esta visita especial al Santuario de Nuestra Señora de LaSalette.

COMITE DE ARREGLO se reunirá en la iglesia este martes a las 12 del mediodia para planear como vamos a adornarla para las Navidades.

COMITE DE LA LITURGIA tendrá su próxima reunión el lunes, 13 de diciembre, a las 7:45 en la rectoria. Será para planear las Navidades.

"COURAGE" es un grupo para la gente que lucha con atracciones hacia el mismo sexo. Este grupo católico fue establecido por el Padre John Harvey, OSFS, para ayudar a estas personas para que vivieran la castidad, según la ley de Dios. "COURAGE" tendrá su reunion aquí el domingo, 19 de diciembre, a partir de las 7 P.M.. Todos estan bienvenidos.
