17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

A mother began to work each night at 6 p.m. She finished work at 10 p.m. She would come home after 10 p.m. and look in on her children who were fast asleep. She, however, was concerned that her children didn’t know that she was there caring for them because they were asleep. One night when she came home from work after 10 p.m. she put on red lipstick. She went into the room of her children and kissed them on the cheek. When the children got up the following morning, they would look in the mirror and see that their mother had come in to see them.

We know that our God is with us to care for us and be with us. God wants to gives us proof that he is always there even when we don’t realize it. He gives us the miracle of the Eucharist. At Mass Christ speaks to us and gives us his body and blood. Now we have proof that God is always with us.
